Definition of ticket scalping per the NY Attorney General: Economic underground consisting of price gouging, bribery and tax evasion.
Unified Fans Opposed to Ticket Scalping contends that "all men are created equal" and we should have an equal opportunity to purchase concert tickets at the artist's ticket price.
UFOTTS also believes that the answer to this crisis is to have a Federal law implemented prohibiting scalping nationwide.
As put in the words of Georgia Governor Roy E. Barnes "I cannot countenance legislation which does nothing to enhance public access to events and will inevitably restrict our state's first-class sporting and cultural events to a PRIVILEGED FEW."
(Said in a letter to UFOTTS co-founder after he vetoed a bill that would have allowed ticket scalping in Georgia.)
Your support is greatly needed and appreciated.
Send a message to Washington to pass a bill against scalping. Or send us your complaints via email or on the message board (see link at bottom of page) and we will send it on for you! See current bill that has been in "committee" since 1998. Do not let this travisty continue. Why pay $200 for a $30 seat.
Follow this linkto find your representatives in Washington or your state's Attorney General. At a loss for words? See our sample letter page. No profanity please.
Send a message to all of your state representatives too. If your state does not have an anti-scalping law, why not? If it does, why is it not being enforced?
Get mad and then take action. Tell them we're not going to take it any more. Put the concerts back in the hands of the fans, before the concerts are accessed by only a PRIVILEGED FEW!
Educate yourself - take a look at what's been going on while you've been trying to scrape up the $200 to get to the concert that should cost you $30.00.
